Provincial Social Media Coordinator

Summary

The Terry Fox Foundation advances Terry Fox's vision of using research to end cancer. Through the annual Terry Fox Run, Terry Fox School Run, tribute donations, and planned giving, we uphold Terry's vision and beliefs while supporting cancer research.

Role responsibility:

For the group of over 30 Community Runs in Manitoba, two Social Media Co-Coordinators will establish, manage, and expand a social media presence. Together, they will endeavor to ensure there is always coverage by splitting the workload, utilizing one another's ideas, and dividing the workload. They will provide the most recent information about their Community Runs to the local community, highlight noteworthy events and activities in any of the communities, respond to questions from the general public, and serve as the online spokesperson for the provincial chapter of The Terry Fox Foundation.

Required skills:

- Proficient in Instagram and Facebook

- The value of having knowledge of and expertise with various social media sites

- Be a permanent resident of Manitoba or be a resident there at the moment.

- Reliable, strong internet. capable of sending and receiving huge data (images, movies)

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Outstanding customer service skills

- The capacity to communicate with a wide range of users from all ages and locations.

- Polite, deferential, and sympathetic

- Very good initiative

- Capacity to operate in a team environment

- Reliable and dependable. capable of keeping deadlines

Time commitment - Remote Volunteering:

Initial setup hours are unknown and will rely on previous volunteer experience. - From October through June: Approximately 15 minutes per day, with sporadic extensions for announcements or initiatives - July and August: 1-2 hours each day (sporadically checking in and publishing; never for more than two hours at once) - September: 1 to 4 hours each day (checking frequently) - On September 16 and 17, also known as "Run weekend," you must be accessible to check social media throughout the day.
